The Vigil Integrated Care Management System utilizes infra red motion detectors to monitor movement inside the resident's room.
The Vigil Integrated Care Management System utilizes infra red motion detectors to monitor movement inside the resident's room. Visonic CLIP 4 Type PIR detectors are located in the entry and adjacent bathroom (ensuite) doorframes and are used to detect movement through the doorways. A Visonic 360 Disc PIR is installed in the ceiling of each resident room to monitor movement inside the room. Motion detectors are connected to the Vigil system through the Vigil ANQ420 Data Interface Module and are controlled through the Vigil Engine Software. All motion detectors are wired normally closed for fail-safe precautions. Features include:

Operation

When a resident moves inside the room, the room space sensor mounted in the ceiling is activated and the appropriate input on the Data Interface Module is activated. When the resident exits the room, the door sensor is activated and the appropriate input on the Data Interface Module is also activated. The central equipment reads the active state from both inputs on the DIM and the correlation of the two signals indicates that the resident has departed the room. The Vigil® Engine identifies the "Room Departed" call and begins timing. If the resident does not return to the room within the specified time, a "Room Departed" call is sent to staff via silent radio pocket pagers identifying the room from which the resident departed. The reverse correlation (door sensor activation then room space sensor activation) results in a "Room Entered" call. Call information is also displayed on the Real Time screen describing the type and origin of the call, the time the call occurred and the staff group alerted. The same process occurs when a resident enters the adjacent bathroom (ensuite) and does not exit within the allotted time period. In this case an "In Ensuite" call is generated.
