Pennsylvania Attorney General Approves Vincentian Collaborative System-Marian Manor Integration
Pittsburgh, PA - The sponsors of two of Pittsburgh's finest long term care providers have been notified by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office of approval of their intention to bring their organizations together within one health care system. As of February 1, 2008, the Sisters of the Holy Spirit and the Vincentian Sisters of Charity officially integrated Marian Manor Corporation, a 186 bed not for profit long term care facility operated by the Sisters of the Holy Spirit, into the Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS), a multi-institutional long term care provider operated by the Vincentian Sisters of Charity.
Sister Bridget Miller, Major Superior of the Sisters of the Holy Spirit of Pittsburgh, said, "We have felt since we began discussions with the Vincentian Sisters of Charity that an integration of Marian Manor into the Vincentian Collaborative System is our best option for the future. We share a common mission and a deep desire to continue that mission and our long heritage of quality care and dedicated service to the people of western Pennsylvania. We are pleased to have received the necessary approvals that now enable Marian Manor to become a part of the Vincentian Collaborative System.
Sister Charlene Reebel, Major Superior of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity, said, "From the beginning we have endeavored in this integration to be faithful to the missions and traditions of both organizations. We are very pleased that Marian Manor will become a vital part of the Vincentian System. Our task now is to provide seamless and continuous care to those we serve as we welcome the Sisters of the Holy Spirit, residents, children, families, and staff into the VCS family."
Marian Manor, located on 26 acres in Green Tree, has provided quality and compassionate care to the community for over 50 years. It is a fully accredited 186 bed not for profit long term care facility providing a range of services that includes personal care, intermediate and skilled services, and a special Alzheimer's unit. Marian Manor also operates a Child Development Center on its campus.
Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS) is the parent corporation for several subsidiaries which include three long term care facilities (Vincentian Home, Vincentian Regency, Vincentian de Marillac), Vincentian Rehabilitation Services, Vincentian Child Development Center, and the Vincentian Charitable Foundation. VCS also manages Mount Macrina Manor in Uniontown.
The sponsors, the boards of trustees and the administration of the two organizations look forward with enthusiasm to this new relationship which will enhance the care of those persons with long term health needs as well as the needs of families with young children who participate in the child development centers provided in both organizations.
