Next Galaxy Partners With VR HealthNet To Bring Virtual Reality To Healthcare

Miami Beach, FL /PRNewswire/ - Next Galaxy Corp. (NXGA), a leading developer of innovative content solutions and fully immersive consumer virtual reality ("VR") technology, today announced the execution of a partnership agreement with VR HealthNet to deploy virtual reality training solutions into the healthcare industry. VR HealthNet specializes in developing training solutions targeting long-term care facilities and other healthcare end markets.

"We are excited to deploy virtual reality into the growing healthcare industry," said Next Galaxy Corp. President Mary Spio. "As evidenced by our agreement with Miami Children's Hospital, we have developed a strong expertise in applying the principles of virtual reality to augment the training of healthcare professionals in order to improve patient outcomes and reduce cost. This agreement with VR HealthNet will help accelerate those initiatives over the coming quarters."

Under the terms of the agreement, the partners will collaborate in the development of the training modules and Next Galaxy will provide access to its online platform for distribution to VR HealthNet's clients. CEEK, the Next Galaxy distribution platform will provide analytics, online payment system and all the management features necessary.

"Next Galaxy has become a pioneer and leader in the emerging virtual reality space. Its device agnostic platform enabling our client to use practically any VR Headset or Mobile Phone will represent a huge advantage," said VR HealthNet CEO and Founder Dr. Suresh Nellore. "We are excited to be working with the team to lead the way in healthcare training. We look forward to initially deploy our virtual reality solutions at long-term care facilities and offer a solution to the costly training problem, at the same time greatly improve the quality of care"

According to the Cone of Learning from Edgar Dale, after two weeks, the human brain tends to remember 10% of what it reads, 20% of what it hears, and 90% of what it does. Virtual Reality enables users to perform "hands on" procedures in a safe and controlled setting with a virtual patient. With many facilities spending upwards of $2,000 per employee on training, virtual reality training can help reduce cost by more than half and greatly improve learning outcomes.
