New Shower From Speakman Meets Disability Standards

Shower

New Castle, DL - The Speakman Company has introduced a component shower system for ADA-compliant rooms and facilities. The combination hand-held/mounted showerhead with 50 sprays also includes a combination chrome-plated slide bar and stainless-steel grab bar that meets the ANSI standard 250-pound pull test. The unit also complies with A112.18.1M and A117.1 ANSI standards for commercial and hotel installations.

The Speakman ADA Room Shower (VS-1001 ADA) is believed to be ideal for hotels, recreational facilities, health and managed care facilities and schools where showering facilities are required to meet the federal government's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Federal standards for accessible design specify that a compliant shower spray unit have a hose at least 60 inches that can be used both as a fixed shower head and a hand-held shower. The Speakman ADA Room Shower has 24 inches of height adjustability with an ADA lever handle for ease of use. It also has a pressure compensating flow control that limits the flow to a maximum of 2.5 gallons per minute and features a non-positive shut-off feature that protects against siphoning of standing water.
