Mist Assist IFCD (Inspiratory Flow Control device), designed for drug therapy and the treatment of many
Mist Assist IFCD (Inspiratory Flow Control device), designed for drug therapy and the treatment of many pulmonary disorders, can be used for metered dose inhalation therapy (MDI), for nebulization therapy, and as a breathing exerciser for inspiratory and expiratory exercise therapy. Clinicians and end users are able to replace a spacer device they are using for MDI delivery, a separate nebulizer device for nebulization treatment, and a separate incentive spirometer for breathing exercise. The instrument can provide clinicians with one device to accomplish all three therapies.

The device works on the principle of inhalation under controlled resistance. Air taken in travels in a laminar flow in a relatively unobstructed path directly into the lungs. This process works on controlled inspiratory flow under resistance and improves deposition of medication to the lungs, providing a greater therapeutic benefit. This direct delivery reduces deposition of medication on the lips, in the mouth, throat, pharynx, and stomach. Improved medication delivery to the lungs reduces systemic side effects, resulting in maximum therapeutic benefit.
