Case Study: Community Health Partnership, Inc.

Community Health Partnership, Inc. (CHP) was primarily a Hewlett-Packard shop, using direct-attached storage (DAS) to support Windows® 2000/2003 operating systems. The company's 200 users primarily needed file storage for key applications – Microsoft® Exchange and SQL, as well as file and print, plus an in-house electronic medical record system. With the company growing, data volumes were growing tremendously as well, making management extremely difficult. Also, problems with corruption in their Exchange implementation prompted a desire for snapshot capabilities to enable online backup and fast, easy data recovery.

CHP's staff became interested in EqualLogic after attending a Microsoft Tech Ed seminar. They needed a cost-effective solution that delivered advanced features such as snapshots and replication, plus easy, safe scalability. They evaluated an EMC®/Dell™ solution, but decided on two PS50E arrays because they offered all the software capability required, already built into the product.
