ThoughtWire And PointClickCare Enter Into Partnership To Transform Patient Data Challenges In Ontario's Long-Term Care (LTC) Facilities Built On Microsoft Azure

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) - ThoughtWire today announced its strategic technology partnership with PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software vendor for the senior care market. Together, ThoughtWire and PointClickCare will work to help overcome patient data challenges experienced in Ontario’s Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities. This partnership has resulted in a new solution built on the Microsoft Azure platform including AI services.

Ontario’s LTC system is facing increased pressure to streamline and simplify how clinicians access patient data. Residents at LTC facilities often require complex medical care, yet LTC facilities typically lack easy access to advanced medical technology, such as on-site laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging. As a result, LTC residents are referred to external health organizations and their reports are returned to the LTC using a mix of paper-based and electronic methods.

This creates a challenging scenario for clinicians accessing patient data, requiring them to manually match records between systems and search large databases to find test results. Not only is the current approach inefficient, but it also increases the risk of privacy breaches and user errors.

To solve this challenge, ThoughtWire and PointClickCare developed eConnect, a unified solution for clinicians to access a patient’s medical data built on Azure. The eConnect solution, designed for the long-term care market, provides critical data sources, while applying Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Augmented Intelligence (AI) to create a single source of truth for patient data. It also improves efficiency, reduces the risk of user error and overcomes many privacy concerns.

“At ThoughtWire, we believe that healthcare data challenges are best solved through partnerships,” said Mike Monteith, CEO of ThoughtWire. “That’s why we’re proud to announce our work with PointClickCare, built on Azure, to create better experiences and outcomes for patients at long-term care facilities.”

“Having access to the right data at the right time is essential to improving healthcare outcomes,” says Stuart Feldman, General Manager, Canada, PointClickCare. “There is a wealth of data available to care providers and through the eConnect solution, we are enabling frontline care staff to access the right information in an efficient and compliant way.”

“Advancements in technology have led to new opportunities to unlock siloed data and improve patient care,” said Lisa Carroll, Canadian Public Sector Lead, Microsoft Canada. “We are pleased to work with partners like ThoughtWire and PointClickCare, who are leveraging Azure to transform the way clinicians assess and treat patients, ultimately leading to better experiences and outcomes.”
