Latex Exam Glove
Since the glove is powder free, it eliminates powder-associated transfer of latex protein and chemical allergens; the drying effect of glove powder on the skin; powder-induced irritation or abrasion to the skin; the risk of powder contamination during laboratory or hospital tests; and aerosolization of glove powder. Lower levels of chemicals reduce the risk of irritant or allergic contact dermatitis (Type IV), while reduced levels of protein decrease the risk of developing an immediate type hypersensitivity (Type I), a latex protein allergy. The glove contains 50 micrograms or less of total water extractable protein per gram, using the ASTM D 5712 Modified Lowry Test Method.
