Community LIFE Is Now Serving Bedford County Seniors At Their New Health And Wellness Center

Pittsburgh, PA /PRNewswire/ - Community LIFE, an all-inclusive program empowering older adults to remain at home, is opening a thirteen thousand square-foot Health and Wellness Center in Bedford County in early September, 2018. This will be the sixth Community LIFE center and will be staffed to serve approximately 150 seniors in Bedford County.

The Health and Wellness Center will be based at 7909 Lincoln Highway, Bedford, and will offer primary care, nursing, physical therapy, social work and recreational activities, in addition to transportation to the center and all medical appointments. The center will also have a special activities room for those with memory impairment who need closer supervision. In addition, Community LIFE provides in-home personal care and home modifications to promote independence and access to care.

Individuals age 55+ who qualify can enroll in a LIFE program any month throughout the year. The program integrates both Medicare and Medicaid, and there is no cost to enroll for those who qualify. Other Community LIFE centers serve Eastern Allegheny County and portions of Westmoreland County.
