Payer Contract Setup– (Financial Admin, Payer Contract)
Flexible Payer Contract Setup lets you define parameters for all Payers to meet facility-specific needs. You define contracts to handle varied billing requirements, coverage limitations, start and end dates, co-pays, Room & Board Rates, and G/L posting references for each Contract.
Ancillary Item Setup– (Financial Admin, Ancillary Items)
You set up facility-specific ancillary items for defined categories within PathLinks. All applicable codes (HCPC, Occurrence, etc.) are defined for each item, along with the charge including mark-up and the payer coverage for each ancillary. The coverage can be defined either by category or item.
Ancillary Charge Entry – A/R, Ancillary Charge Entry
Ancillary or miscellaneous charges are handled by setting defaults either by resident or ancillary. The SmartBiller determines which payer to charge for each entry.
Billing Generation – A/R, Billing Generation
During billing generation, Room and Board and Ancillary charges are created using the SmartBiller. Primary, secondary and co-pay contracts are determined and evaluated for each resident resulting in non-posted receivable items. These can be generated on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Retro Billing may be included in any billing generation, backing out any previously billed information, then rebilling it correctly using the updated information entered for a resident.
Account Inquiry – A/R, Account Inquiry
Account Inquiry provides an instant lookup for resident account information. It offers a list of all receivable items and payment amounts for one or all payer contracts for a resident.
Receivable Items – A/R, Receivable Items
You can view various invoice (billing) records online including specific line items, line item details and General Ledger accounts affected.
Cash Receipts Payment Screen – A/R, Cash Receipts
Enter, change and manage payments for invoices within Cash Receipts. You can enter payments by Payer, Resident, Customer or Non A/R items such as vending machine income. You can also apply payments to specific charges eliminating unmanageable agings.
Credit Management – A/R, Credit Management
Track outstanding balances on residents' accounts using the Credit Management module. You can view condensed aging, detailed aging, and payments. With the Tickler tab, you can keep track of collection actions such as phone calls and letters sent.
Payer Contract R&B Rates
You have the flexibility to accommodate a variety of payer contract rate variables based on RUGs III score, bed rate, contract rate, state specific acuity, case mix, hospital and other (therapeutic) bedholds. Payer Contract Room and Board rates also provides an online history for all payer contracts. In the case of Medicare, it provides an online blended rate to accommodate the PPS regulations.
Resident Resource Tab
By integrating Admission & Census and Accounts Receivable/Billing, any resident resource changes trigger appropriate retro billing changes and are maintained for a complete history of resources, deductions and allowances.
